Top 3 Opportunities

1. Develop a plan to reward our educators and attract top talent.
We need to appropriately appreciate, respect, and compensate the most valuable piece in the process of delivering an outstanding education experience – our AASD educators!

2. Continue to provide ways to support our students in expanding the skills and knowledge of all students that will be needed after graduation.
We must provide multiple opportunities to increase the academic as well as social and emotional needs for every student. It is important for students to be able to explore careers that match their interests, skills and abilities by the time they graduate.

3. Continue to build a bridge to connect staff, students, and the community.
Our city is growing and the ways to educate our children is changing too. By connecting staff and students with those in our community, we can provide better opportunities for them to succeed.
ABOUT ME
I am a wife, mother, grandmother, former educator, and education advocate
I am running for re-election for a seat on the Appleton Board of Education because I believe education has always been about preparedness and readiness of students. I want to ensure that the students in Appleton Area School District, parents of the students, and our community, are successful in building desirable attributes and skills in each student that enables them to be life-long learners and contributors in the 21st century.
I will continue to be a strong voice for our students, teachers, parents, and the Appleton community, while establishing a clear vision and path to exceptional education and learning experiences for each student.
I have lived in Appleton with my husband Rick since 1992 and we both are life-long residents of the Fox Valley. My husband and I are retired and keep very active through various volunteer opportunities.
Rick and I have four grown children; two of them have families of their own living in AASD.
Rick and I are the proud grandparents of a total of nine grandchildren. Five of which attend AASD schools. Being a part of each of their lives keeps us busy.
